Public Information System
A Public Information System is a system designed to present information to the public or large audience all at the same time.
These systems make use of large display technology such as bill-board sized LED displays and networked display monitors.
For example:
- In airports, presenting the arrival and departure information on monitors and electronic boards is essential for the smooth operation of the airport.
- Train stations also need this information.
-Sometimes major sport events and public gatherings will make use of public information systems.
-Motorways have gantry displays for the latest situation or speed restrictions.
Why is it important that the information is up-to-date?
These systems need to be easy to update and maintain to ensure that the public is viewing the most recent information.
